It’s hard to know what to say when a friend is dealing with a really awful illness or loss. And a lot of the things we blurt out may end up sounding more hurtful than we mean them to. That’s why we love this series of cards that say what sick and grieving people really want to hear.
For example, one says, “Please let me be the first to punch the next person who tells you everything happens for a reason.” Another in the same spirit says, “When life gives you lemons, I won’t tell you a story about my cousin’s friend who died of lemons.”
It’s unlikely that scrolling through a greeting card catalogue also counts as a lesson in how to support people going through a hard time, but this almost qualifies. One card just says, “I’m really sorry I haven’t been in touch. I didn’t know what to say.” Check the link below for more.
