Google Helps Small Businesses Build Digital Skills With Free Training Platform

Google has launched The Digital Garage, a free training platform that small and medium business (SMB) owners can use to level up their digital skills. The objective is to help SMBs build up their digital prowess so they can make the most of business opportunities online. Here’s what you need to know.

According to research by Deloitte, Australian SMBs that are highly digitally engaged are 1.5 times more likely to grow their revenue compared to businesses that have a low level of engagement. They are also seven times more likely to be exporting, eight times more likely to be creating jobs and 14 times more likely to be innovating.

However, only 43% of SMBs are considered to be highly digitally engaged. To that end, Google has introduced The Digital Garage. The learning platform features 80 training modules that cover everything from search engine optimisation to mobile marketing.

The Digital Garage is a free to use and while it is aimed at SMBs, anybody can access it if they are interesting in learning more about online marketing. Participants can complete the whole online course for a certificate from Google supported by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).
