Instant noodles is one of the easiest foods to upgrade into something tastier and more filling, even by adding just one ingredient. In this case, that ingredient is coconut milk, especially the full fat kind. Just a little turns the soup into a creamy, rich, velvety broth.

A half a can of coconut milk will do, assuming you’re making enough noodles for two, but you can always add as little or as much as you like. The coconut milk adds fat, which makes the broth richer and adds a delicate undertone of coconut flavour. Cook your instant noodles as normal, then add in the coconut milk and mix well to blend the broth and milk together. If you want a sweeter version, use coconut cream.
