OK, so the topic of hair growing on or around your nipples isn't exactly a part of everyday conversation, but it's totally normal for both dudes and ladies alike, and it's nothing to be worried or ashamed of. Here's why.
It may come as a surprise to some women (and, to a lesser extent, men) that you can actually grow hair around your nipples, but this video, from Stuff Mum Never Told You, explains that areolae are actually surrounded by hair follicles, so it's not unusual at all. What's more, a decent percentage of women are genetically predisposed to growing more nipple hair than others because of their hormones.
However, nipple hair could be a concern if you're growing a lot more hair there and in other atypical locations than normal, in addition to having a disrupted menstrual cycle. Two or more consecutive missed periods should prompt a visit to the doctor to get yourself checked out.
