TunnelBear Cleans Up Its Interface, Improves Connection Speeds And Adds New Security Features

Windows/Mac: TunnelBear is one of the best VPN services around, but the faux-retro wood aesthetic always put it in the ugly bin. Today, they have updated their apps so they look and work a bit better.

The most obvious improvement here is the new interface for both the Mac and Windows apps. Gone is the retro wood and in place is a simple, easy to glance at window.

The app is also supposed to improve connection speed, so whether you’re connecting to a specific VPN or reconnecting after a lost connection, it should happen quicker than before. As for security, TunnelBear adds a trusted networks feature so TunnelBear only automatically connects when you’re away from home, a new notification system that lets you know when public Wi-Fi has outdated security methods and a new system that blocks unsecure traffic if TunnelBear drops the connection for any reason. The updates for Mac and Windows are both available right now.
