Sony has announced the PlayStation 4 Slim today. Find out when you’ll be able to get the new console and how much it will cost here in Australia.
The PlayStation 4 Slim shares the same internal specs as the PlayStation 4, which is going to be phased out and replaced by the skinnier version. According to Sony, the new PlayStation 4 Slim is more energy efficient “as the power consumption has been cut by more than 34% and 28% compare to the very first and current models”.
It’s also 30% smaller compared to previous models and 25% lighter. The console will support HDR (High Dynami Range) imaging technology, which enables the reproduction of brightness and darkness while realising a much wider range of colours.
The 500GB version of the PlayStation 4 Slim will be available in Australia from September 15 retailing for $439.95. The 1TB model will be available from September 29 for $509.95.
If you would prefer a more powerful console, Sony also announced the PlayStation 4 Pro today.
