Just because you can travel somewhere and back in a single day doesn’t mean it’s worth the effort. That’s why Lauren Kodiak at The Kitchn recommends you never spend more (or the same) amount of time in your car as you would at your destination. If it takes three hours to get somewhere, that’s six hours of driving. If you’re only going to be at your destination for a couple hours, it’s probably not worth the energy.
