When Opera Software wanted an office in Wroclaw, Poland, they wanted a beautiful office space that also reiterated their commitment to reducing e-waste and environmental friendliness. This is the gorgeous result, and they were kind enough to send us plenty of photos to share.
Opera asked mode:lina for "the greatest office in the world," and they got a pretty good contender. Their offices also use, among other sustainable materials, over 1000 old floppy disks in its construction and design. The shot at the top is an entrance to the office, but the shot below gives you more of a feel for what it's actually like to work in their space.
The spaces are bright and light-filled, with high ceilings and plenty of desk space. It loks open, but still cosy and warm. Moving out of the desks and small offices, these working spaces feature beautiful wood, more floor-to-ceiling windows, and an open setup that, even if a bit distracting for long, hard work, are great for those times when you need to get everyone together to talk or work something out as a group.
Below you'll see probably the most green conference room ever, but combined with the copper pipes and the screens on the walls it looks distinctly electronic, and we love it.
Many thanks to mode:lina for sending us the photos of Opera's new office to highlight, and compliments to them for designing and putting it together. We hope Opera is happy with the space they designed.
