Mount A GoPro To Your DSLR Camera With A Couple Of Cheap Attachments

Most DSLRs come with a hot shoe on the top of the camera — an attachment that allows you to connect mics, flashes and other accessories. How-To Geek points out a couple of examples of why you might want to mount your GoPro in this spot:

…it can actually be a cool and nifty way of capturing another point of view while you grab pictures or video with your DSLR.

Or, if you’re taking photos with your DSLR, the GoPro can capture video during that time and catch some moments that your DSLR probably wouldn’t catch, especially funny moments during photoshoots where a still photo wouldn’t do it justice.

Whatever your reason, if you want to mount your GoPro to your camera, here’s what you need. You may even have these accessories on hand:

  • A hot shoe thread adaptor or ballhead adaptor
  • A GoPro tripod mount adaptor

Attach the adaptor to the hot shoe, then simply thread the GoPro mount onto the adaptor. It’s super easy and another fun option to get even more out of your GoPro. Check out the full post for more detail. How-To Geek also has some fun shots of this setup in action.
