Make Easy, Delicious Sweet Potato Chips In Your Microwave

Baked or mashed sweet potatoes are lovely, but what if you’re short on time and have only one sweet potato lying around the kitchen? Turn it into chips! This recipe by Allrecipes shows you how to use the microwave to make some sweet sweet potato chips in no time.

The microwave rises to the occasion for several reasons: It’s convenient and quick, but mainly it also does that “drying out” effect which makes sure the sweet potatoes get that satisfying crispity-crunch like store-bought sweet potato chips.

You’ll first need to cut the sweet potato into fairly even, thin slices. A mandoline would easily do the trick, but otherwise, make sure your knife is sharp enough to get the job done. Toss them around in a bowl with melted butter or olive/coconut oil and some seasoning (perhaps paprika!).

Line a microwaveable dish with baking paper and make sure the sweet potato slices aren’t crowded together to ensure even cooking. Cooking time depends on your microwave and how thick the slices are. Try starting at four minutes and keep adding 30 seconds until the chips are a golden brown.
