The Fuze Cases, developed by Actual Innovation, are currently in the concept stage according to its crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. The Fuze Cases are made to restores 3.5mm audio jack for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, double the battery life of the devices as well as provide scratch and shock protection without adding too much bulk.

Weighing in at 28 grams, the cases have an integrated Lightning to 3.5mm audio jack adaptor and are made from durable plastic. One case adds roughly 5mm to the overall thickness of a phone. The Fuze Cases are going to be available in white, black, gold, rose gold and blue.

“When you purchase Fuze, you purchase the freedom of choice,” Actual Innovation said.

Lots of big claims being made there.

Considering the vociferous response against the removal of the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, this project is expected to garner a strong response. Sure, Apple has provided an 3.5mm audio jack adaptor that plugs into Lightning port, but that’s one more thing to carry around (and possibly lose). It also prevents users from charging their phones and listen to music at the same time.

“We used the latest rapid prototyping techniques in order to hit the market as close to the iPhone 7 launch as possible — and to make sure it’s available to be delivered by the holidays,” Actual Innovation said.

The case is expected to ship in December 2016. Backers who contribute US$49 or more will get one Fuze Case for the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus in the colour of their choice (limited to the first 200 early backers).
