Everything Coming To Netflix, Stan, Presto And Foxtel This August

While neither Stan, Presto nor the Australian Netflix library has anything near the range of US streaming services, every month we get just a little more. Foxtel is also adding a number of hugely popular titles to their Anytime on-demand streaming. Read on to see all the content that will be added to their libraries during the month of August.

Netflix

This month, Netflix gets political with a satirical version of Trump's The Art Of The Deal, plus Season 2 of Scream and Oscar-winning film Argo joins the Netflix AU lineup.

The Get Down

Told through the lives and music of a ragtag crew of South Bronx teens, The Get Down is a mythic saga of the transformation of 1970s New York City.

Argo:

In 1979, six Americans take shelter from Iranian militants in the Canadian embassy, prompting the CIA to concoct an elaborate plot to rescue them.

Donald Trump's The Art Of The Deal:

Funny or Die presents a satirical rendition of Donald Trump's 1987 bestselling business book, The Art of the Deal.

Scream, Season 2

In this new TV series sequel to the classic horror franchise, a cyberbullying incident in Lakewood leads to a murder with chilling echoes of the past.

Stan

Stan's exclusive offerings this month include a whole heap of new RuPaul seasons, seasons one and two of comedy-drama Younger and one of the best stripper movies ever made — Showgirls. Here are the highlights:

Younger:

Created by Darren Star (Sex and the City) Younger follows Liza, a 40-year old woman who pretends to be 26 in order to get a job in a highly competitive industry. When she lands her dream role, Liza has to figure out how to balance her real life with her "pretend" life. Starring Hilary Duff and Sutton Foster.

RuPaul Seasons 2-7:

New Seasons of RuPaul added to Stan! Join RuPaul, the most famous drag queen in the world, as the host, mentor and inspiration on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Fringe:

Get ready to binge-watch all five seasons of the hit sci-fi series created by J.J. Abrams. Fringe follows FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) as she investigates unusual crimes and occurances. Assisting her is a once institutionalised scientist and his son (Joshua Jackson) as they attempt to rationalise a brewing storm of unexplained phenomena.

Showgirls

The worst movie ever made or the greatest stripper movie ever... Elizabeth Berkley stars a dancer, working her way to become the top Vegas showgirl.

Presto

Presto is leading its August lineup with Australian talent, streaming the incredible Aussie film The Dressmaker. It's also bringing us Fear The Walking Dead, as well as Dexter and Veep in bingeable quantities. Here are some of the highlights:

The Dressmaker

Legendary Australian filmmak­er Jocelyn Moorhouse returns to the director's chair to deliver the ultimate revenge story in The Dress­maker streaming August 27. Based on the bestselling novel by Rosalie Hamm, the AACTA Award-winning comedy-drama stars Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Hugo Weaving and Judy Davis.

Fear The Walking Dead:

A prequel to, and set in the same universe as, The Walking Dead, the gritty drama explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family who must embrace their darker histories.

Dexter:

Dare to spend hours with everyone’s favourite serial killer, Dexter as every blood curdling episode streams on Presto from August 5.

With Foxtel Anytime, you can stream shows any time you want (surprisingly) although the shows have to be a part of your package already (say, the Drama package if you want to watch Game of Thrones). Here are some of the highlights:

Foxtel LifeStyle programming arriving on Anytime features season 4 of Gogglebox, the Logie award-winning show about people watching television that captures the hilarious and often heartfelt reactions of some of Australia’s most animated viewers. Season 4 airs in August and adds new episodes to Foxtel Anytime, as the season airs, alongside seasons 1-3 already streaming.

The Kettering Incident

The Kettering Incident follows Anna Macy (Elizabeth Debicki) who left the town of Kettering when she was 14 after her best friend mysteriously disappeared. When she returns after 15 years she finds a community in crisis. Her reappearance causes an even greater stir with rumours about what really happened during her friend’s disappearance on everyone’s mind.

Fear The Walking Dead:

Fear the Walking Dead is the hit companion series to The Walking Dead that explores another shattered group of survivors who set out on the open seas in search of a safe harbour to call home in the midst of the zombie apocalypse. Season 2 continues on Foxtel with new episodes added to season 1 on Anytime.

A Place To Call Home:

The sweeping period drama, A Place to Call Home has quickly stolen the hearts of the nation as it takes viewers through the lives of the Blighs, a wealthy and complicated pastoralist family from rural New South Wales. A Place to Call Home seasons 1-3 are available this month on Foxtel Anytime.

Gogglebox
