Google Gives You Shortcuts And Alerts To Get Instant Olympics Updates

The 2016 Rio Olympics have kicked off this weekend. If you want to stay totally up to date on all the breaking news, Google’s giving you a few new ways to do that.

If you search for “rio olympics” on Google, you’ll see a couple of new options. First, a temporary suggestion at the top of your search results offers to add a shortcut to your home screen to quickly lookup the latest Olympics news. This is handy if you want to casually check in once in a while.

If you prefer to be notified of major events immediately, you can scroll down a bit and tap on “Get Olympics updates”. This option will send notifications to your phone when major events end and medals are awarded.
