Create A Voice Controlled Scoreboard With Alexa And IFTTT

Spend a lot of time playing indoor games where you’re keeping track of points? It sucks to have to stop the action to draw a line on a chalkboard, which is why Instructables user JeffreyLoucks created his own voice controlled scoreboard system using an Alexa and IFTTT.

Once you’re done here, the system works pretty much exactly as you’d expect: say, “Alex, trigger [name] point,” and that adds a point to the scoreboard. It does this by tapping into IFTTT and the data analytics dashboard software, Initial State.

The Alexa trigger runs through IFTTT then displays the data on Initial State. This is not exactly necessary for most of us, but if you have an old school rec room in need of some modern tricks, it’s a fun weekend project.
