In April, Carhood, a company that lets you park your car at near an airport for free by lending your car out while you’re away, launched in Melbourne. Now, the service has expanded to Sydney Airport and Carhood has partnered with Ford to provide additional rental cars and incentives for Ford car owners. Here’s what you need to know.
If you don’t know what Carhood is, it’s a service that lets people park very close to an airport and then rent their cars out to other approved members. In exchange, the car owners get free parking, a car wash and 25 per cent of the profits if their car is successfully rented out.
Carhood also offers free insurance and doesn’t charge a joining fee. You drop your car off at a designated location that’s very close to the airport before your flight and Carhood will arrange a shuttle service to take you to your terminal.
For its Sydney Airport launch, Carhood has partnered up with vehicle manufacturer Ford so that anybody who is renting out a Ford branded car through the service will get a 30 per cent profit return as opposed to the standard 25 per cent.
Ford has also supplied Carhood with an expanded fleet of 30 new Ford vehicles spread among the three Carhood airport-adjacent locations.
You can find out more information over at Carhood’s official website.
