Microsoft’s free Windows 10 upgrade offer officially ended last week. However, the company has left a loophole. If you need to use assistive technologies, you can still upgrade for free. Microsoft also isn’t verifying if you do.
According to a tucked-away page on Microsoft’s site, users who need accessibility features can still choose to upgrade for free for an undetermined amount of time.
To sign up for the free upgrade, you simply have to check a box that says you use assistive technologies and Microsoft doesn’t seem to be verifying the claim at all so it may work even for typical users who missed the deadline.
Microsoft may rescind or modify the offer at any time, so if you want to upgrade to Windows 10 and don’t want to pay, you should probably check this out as soon as possible. To get started, head to the source link below and click Upgrade Now.

Don’t you think that this is actively encouraging users who don’t use assistive technology to get on the bandwagon ASAP by telling them that their claim will not be checked in any way.
Result – MSFT gets suspicious and shuts down this ‘loophole’, leaving those who are genuinely in need out in the cold.
For my money, this article is ethically dubious.
Why would it do that? If they start to verify instead of not, then those that do genuinely need it will still get it, won’t they?
That’s called Virtue Signaling and no one is impressed by it.
It’s called ethics and morality. Look it up.
You might be right except for the fact that microsoft has left it like this on purpose because they want as many people on windows 10 as they can get and this way they dont have to seem desperate by extending the regular free offer.
I have tried multiple times and it always gets an error. first time i tried it got to 100% download and then said that it failed with error code 0x80070057. Have tried googling it but couldn’t find anything helpful for my situation, anyone heard of anything about this i would appreciate the help.
I have this as well. Nothing has fixed it so far.
