How I Succeeded: Work Club’s Soren Trampedach

How I Succeeded is a regular series on Lifehacker where we ask business leaders for the secrets and tactics behind their success. Today: Soren Trampedach from Work Club.

Current gig: Founder of Work Club
Location: I live in Sydney but I’m starting to travel more as we have just opened the Melbourne site
Current mobile device:Samsung Galaxy S5
Current computer: Macbook Air
One word that best describes how you work: Anytime/anywhere

What apps/software/tools can’t you live without?

None, I do not use apps and very little software; I like the old school face to face interactions and connections.

What social network do you find the most useful?

I am not on Facebook or Twitter. I only use LinkedIn.

What were the most important lessons you learned while growing your business?

Follow your own gut instinct and do not listen too often to people who are not part of the same journey; don’t take no for an answer because success is more about perseverance and less about luck.

What has been the most surprising part of your business journey?

In many ways it is a personal journey at the same time; learning all the time both on the business and also on the personal side, the boundaries are so blurred for me.

What’s your sleep routine like?

I need seven hours of sleep a night, ideally eight hours. I go to bed at around 10pm and get up shortly before 6am, trying to keep the discipline as I am much more effective with a good overall balance of sleep, good food and exercise.

What advice would you offer to other businesses on how to succeed?

Persevere and trust in yourself, surround yourself with positive people who also want to be part of the journey and who will give as well as take. Life is too short to surround yourselves with “takers”.
