Google Introduces Bubble Zoom, The Coolest Way To Read Comics In Play Books

Android: Google Play Books is already our favourite ereader, but it’s quickly becoming our favourite comic book reader as well. Google has just announced a new feature that highlights text bubbles as you read comics in Play Books.

The new feature, introduced at San Diego Comic-Con, uses image recognition to pick out the speech bubbles in a comic and highlight them as you read. You can use the volume up and down buttons to move from one bubble to the next as you read, while still enjoying the full page of artwork.

Currently, the feature is in a “tech preview” and only works on a few collections published by Marvel and DC, which you can find here. You can also get 50 per cent off a title using the SDCC2016 promo code. Hopefully this feature will roll out on a wider basis soon, because it looks awesome for comic book readers.
