Paint can transform the entire look of a room — so much, in fact, that it can actually affect your home’s value. Zillow studied tens of thousands of sold homes around the US to see how the paint colours of certain rooms affected the home’s sale price.

Zillow Digs analysed the photos from nearly 50,000 homes to see how room colour corresponded to sale price. For example, they found that homes with yellow kitchens sold for $US1360 ($1847) more than expected values, while light grey living rooms sold for $US1104 ($1500) more.
Of course, it’s impossible to say the home sold for more or less explicitly because of paint colour — the data simply point out the numbers. Experts do point out, however, that paint colour can indeed affect your home’s selling price. Here are some additional findings from the study:
