The Alfred Emoji Pack Makes Searching For Emoji On A Mac Less Painful

Mac: The newest version of Alfred introduced improved text expansion. The cool thing is you can easily download packs from other people to implement them in Alfred. Joel Califa created a series of auto expansion rules and searches that makes finding and adding emoji a ton easier.

The emoji pack has two basic ways to use it. If you know the name of an emoji, you can simply type it in-between a couple colons like :loudspeaker: and that will automatically expand to the loudspeaker emoji. If you’ve used Slack before, it’s the same text expansion system. If you don’t remember an emoji’s name, you can also just search for it. Open Alfred, then type S followed by your search query to get a list of emoji.

It’s a heck of a lot easier than awkwardly tapping CTRL+CMD+Space. You’ll need Alfred installed alongside the Powerpack for this to work, but the emoji pack is free.
