Make Living With Slobs Easier By Declaring Clean And Messy Zones

Video: You may not like living with a slob, but nobody likes living with a cleaning nag either. Dedicating specific parts of your home to be either clean or messy areas will help both of you reach an agreement.

In this video from the Clean My Space YouTube channel, host Melissa Maker shares her favourite tips for living with people who aren’t as clean as you. She suggests you compromise and declare certain zones you desire to be kept clean (your most important zones or MIAs), as well as zones that are OK to be messy. For example, the kitchen and living room can be MIAs, but bedrooms and the basement can be messy zones. Maker also goes over some of the important tactics for broaching the subject of cleanliness, like not nagging, being respectful and trying to see their perspective on the issue. Remember, they seem like a slob to you, but to them, you might be a neat-freak.
