You probably don’t think too much about the life of your refrigerator, until it breaks of course. If you want to put off having to replace this essential appliance, make sure you clean your fridge’s coils regularly.

As personal finance site Three Thrifty Guys points out, the condenser coils in the back of your fridge can become dusty real quick (they are near the floor, after all). As dust builds up, this reduces the lifespan of your appliance by a factor of ten years or more. To prevent this, unplug your fridge, get behind it and clean out the coils every year or so.
