iOS: Hopscotch is one of the better tools for teaching kids how to code, and the previously iPad-only app is now available on the iPhone.
We were fans of the original iPad version of Hopscotch and it seems like they have managed to cram that same experience into the iPhone as well. The app’s targeted at kids between nine and eleven, but there’s a lot to do with it regardless of your age.
You can make pretty simple games, silly art projects and more. Like a lot of similar tools, Hopscotch teaches coding concepts with a drag-and-drop interface that relies on simple triggers. It’s a clever way to teach core coding concepts, and it might make you a little less remorseful handing your phone over to kid to play with.
