Is there any dessert that is not improved by the addition of homemade caramel sauce? I think not, but making your own from scratch may conjure up images of boiling sugar and candy thermometers. Luckily, there is an easier way. You just need a microwave.

If this topic seems slightly familiar, it’s because we’re kind of obsessed with simple caramel recipes, and this is one more that should be in your repertoire, along with these easy caramel candies.
To make the sauce, add a tablespoon of unsalted butter to a microwave-safe mug and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir in two tablespoons of light brown sugar, a tablespoon of heavy cream and a pinch of salt and pop it back in for another half minute. Give it another (careful) stir, and microwave for and additional 15 seconds. Drizzle all over your life.
