Eye cream will help moisturise your skin and fight wrinkles, but it can also reduce the puffiness in your eyes if you keep it cold. Photo by Ruth Hartnup.
For most lotions and cosmetics, a cool, dry place is more than acceptable storage. Eye cream, however, can benefit from living in your fridge. According to Dr Susan Smith Jones, president of Health Unlimited, chilled eye creams can help take away the puffiness in your eyes and boost circulation to the skin. Susan Raffy, a cosmetic chemist, agrees, and notes that chilled creams will have a nice sensory feel or cooling effect that are perfect for tired, puffy eyes. So go ahead and stick your eye cream in the fridge. It may not prolong its shelf life, but the skin around your eyes will feel more refreshed.
