Why You Shouldn’t Wear The Same Pair Of Leather Shoes Every Day

As much as you may want to wear those new leather shoes to work every day, you’re better off mixing it up. Normal daily wear can ruin the appearance of your leather shoes faster than you think.

A nice pair of leather shoes can be expensive, so it’s a good idea to take care of them and make them last. That’s why Jim Kass from the Allen Edmonds shoe company recommends you rotate the shoes you wear every day. Your feet sweat all day and the leather soaks it up. They may not seem damp, but they are. If you don’t give your shoes ample time to dry, the leather won’t be able to maintain their shape and they will warp. The leather will also be more prone to scratches when damp. Plus, they will start to stink up faster. Kass suggests you have at least two pairs of shoes you rotate between and store your shoes in wooden shoe trees to absorb the excess moisture.
