Shorten Jeans In A Pinch By Rolling Them At The Knee

Shorten Jeans In A Pinch By Rolling Them At The Knee

If you haven’t had a chance to get too long jeans hemmed but you want to wear them, roll them at the knee to get the right length. This technique sounds a little weird, but it looks better than your other alternatives.

Tucking the excess fabric inside your pants legs at the bottom creates an uneven hem and rolling doesn’t always look great. Next time you need to shorten your jeans in a pinch, pull up on the excess fabric around your knee until the hem reaches the length you want, then fold it down over you knee. Adjust it so that the doubled-up fabric blends in with the wrinkles that naturally happen at your knees. This trick works best with jeans that are cut close around the knee, and with darker denims where the wrinkles won’t stand out. For a step-by-step demonstration, check out the video above.
