Make Capturing Moments On PlayStation 4 Easier With A Settings Tweak

You probably already know that you can take screenshots and record gameplay video on your PS4 with the Share button. The default setup, however, can turn an epic gaming moment into an illusion-breaking navigation of menus. Here’s how to make it more streamlined.

In this video from the gameranx YouTube channel, you’ll learn all kinds of neat tricks you can do with your PS4. For example, if you like to take screenshots or record videos of your most epic gaming moments, you change the way the Share button on your PS4 works:

  1. Press the Share button on your PS4 controller
  2. Then press the Options button
  3. Navigate to Share Settings > SHARE Button Control Type > Easy Screenshots and press the X button

Now you can take a screenshot just by pressing the Share button once, and start recording video with a double press. If you want to open the Share menu, just press the Share button and hold. No more pulling yourself out of intense moments to get your game capture underway.
