Make A Giant Soft Drink Gummy With The Help Of Some Duct Tape

You may not have a mighty need for a giant gummy that looks exactly like a bottle of Coca-Cola, but you can’t deny that it’s a fun visual gag. It’s also not that difficult to make. All you need is some gelatin products, a bottle of Coke and some duct tape.

The process is fully explained in the above video, but what you’ll want to do is grab a bottle of cola and dump it out in a bowl. Then carefully remove the label, taking care to not rip it, and set it aside. Using a hobby knife, cut a slit down the side of the bottle and then cover it with duct tape.

Next, mix eight packets of plain gelatin in a 100mL of water. Once it looks like “mashed potatoes” microwave it for a minute. Add the gelatin to your bowl of soft drink and stir. Pour the mixture into the bottle and pop it in the fridge for about an hour. Pull off the duct tape and, using the slit you made earlier as an entry point for some scissors, trim away the plastic. Put the label and cap back on and marvel at how much this gummy actually looks like a bottle of Coke.

This could be fun to try with kids (with an adult handling the sharps) but it would also make a fun, giant jelly shot. It will change the texture of the jelly, but since you’re using so much gelatin, you could get away with swapping out half of the soft drink for alcohol.
