How To Transfer Your Notes From Evernote To Apple Notes

One of the tiny little new features in the most recent update to OS X El Capitan is the ability to natively import Evernote files into Notes. If you’ve been thinking about jumping ship from Evernote to Apple’s surprisingly robust little Mac app, it’s super easy to do now.

First off, you’ll need the Mac version of the Evernote app (as well as the OS X 10.11.4 update). From there, the process of migrating everything over is super easy:

  1. Open Evernote and Click Edit > Select All.
  2. Click File > Export Notes.
  3. Type in a file name, make a mental note of the files location, and select Evernote XML Format for the format.
  4. Open up Apple Notes.
  5. Flick File > Import Notes… and select the file you saved from Evernote.

That’s it, all your notes will not be in Apple Notes. If you only want certain notebooks, you can right-click a notebook in Evernote, select “Export” and then follow steps two through four above.
