Make A Secret Bookshelf Stash For Hiding Valuables With Some Old Binders

Hiding your valuables is a great way to protect them. Even if someone breaks into your home, they may not get away with the goods. This clever hiding spot makes use of some old three-ring binders you probably have lying around somewhere.

This video from the HouseholdHacker YouTube channel is filled with all kinds of useful tips for securing your home and protecting your valuables, including a clever use for some old three-ring binders. The more boring and uninteresting they look the better. Cut one cover off of two binders, then cut off both covers from a third binder. As you’ll see in the video, make sure you leave enough of the cover (about an inch and a half) so there are tabs that can line up with each other when the back of the binder lays flat on a table. Then use hot glue to attach each tab together. When you place this franken-binder on your bookshelf, you’ll have what appears to be three boring binders sitting next to one another. When you open it up, however, you’ll have a clever storage space for some cash, electronic devices, or other valuables.
