This Glowing Millennium Falcon Purse Is The DIY Project You Were Looking For

Star Wars magic is back in the air, and you can capture some of it with this practical yet definitively geeky DIY purse.

Mikaela Holmes posts her instructions for recreating the Millennium Falcon in bag format over at Instructables. Meticulous details in the stitching, texturing, and dying of the leather make this “relatively simple bag” stand out. There’s even a strip of LEDs to mimic the illuminated hyperdrive module of the Falcon and the bag is lined with a technical readout of the ship.

You’ll need a bunch of leather and sewing supplies as well as steady hands, but Mikaela’s instructions lay it all out for you down to the last sensor-dish-from-a-button detail. Whether you make it or not, it’s inspiring craftsmanship.
