Spice Up Your Cocktails By Adding Grilled Fruit

Summer is the perfect time to cook every course on your grill, including drinks. Add a smoky, caramelised flavour by using grilled fruit in your cocktails.

You can apply this idea to fruity drinks from lemonade (spiked or not) to mojitos. Keep in mind that some fruits can stand up better to the heat of the grill. The high heat will caramelize the sugars in the fruit, which adds a natural smoky sweetness even to the most mild cocktails. For example, grilled pineapple pieces are great in a mojito, and grilled peaches bring a whiskey sour to life.
