Bury Your Esky In The Sand To Keep Food And Drinks Cool At The Beach

Picnicking on the beach is always a fun idea, but an Esky full of snacks can get warm in the sun. Keep your food and drinks cold a little longer by burying your Esky in the sand.

This tip comes from The Kitchn, where they suggest:

Burying the cooler in sand helps provide additional insulation to help the cooler do its job more efficiently. If you can, find a shady spot or use an umbrella over the cooler, or throw any blankets or towels you’re not using over the cooler too.

All of these things will help keep the cooler colder than if you just left it sitting on top of the sand in the hot sun.

Of course, you only want to bury it partially, so you can still open and close the lid (and not get too much sand in your Esky). And you probably want to fill in that hole before you pack up and leave, otherwise it could be a danger to fellow beach-goers. Check out the original post over at the link below.
