Shooting and combining the thousands of still frames required for a stop motion movie can be tedious, but this custom rig made from a Raspberry Pi can make the production process run a lot smoother.

Over at MakeUseOf, Christian Cawley has put together a guide for building your own stop motion video rig with just a few essential components. You’ll need a Pi, of course, but you’ll also need a PiCam camera module, a homemade rostrum rig (to position and hold the camera) and a few free programs you can download on your Pi with some basic commands.
Once you have it all put together, and you’ve got your puppets ready, you’ll be able to easily make your own stop-motion projects frame by frame. You can find the complete how-to guide at the link below.
