Cathode Gives Terminal A Retro Makeover On Mac And iOS

iOS/Mac: Sick of looking at that fancy, functional Terminal built into OS X? Cathode is an app that strips away all that readable future-tech for a much more retro flair.

At its core, Cathode’s all about emulating Terminal with extremely retro effects. This means making it look like an old school computer. You can customise all these effects to an insane degree, changing the colour, horizontal syncing, and a ton more. We briefly looked at Cathode a long time ago, but it wasn’t quite up to snuff as an actual Terminal emulator. Nowadays, it’s much closer, and can do just about everything most of us need in Terminal while also giving you a nostalgic grin every time you use it. You can check out a demo of the app over on the developer’s site if you want to give it a test drive.
