Turn Overcooked Rice Into Tasty, Crispy Crackers

Turn Overcooked Rice Into Tasty, Crispy Crackers

Overcooked rice is a poor vehicle for delicious stir fries, but it’s the perfect starting material for crispy and delicious rice crackers.

My boy Justin Chapple — What? He follows me on Twitter, you guys, I swear — will walk you through the process in the video above. All you’ll need is some overcooked rice (though perfectly-cooked rice works too), an oven, a frying pan, and some oil. If you want a more homogeneous cracker, you can always puree the rice before dehydrating it, as suggested by Kristen Kish at the beginning of the video. (Justin skips this step for some reason.) Either way you’ll get a great cracker, and there will be no need to cry over burnt rice!
