Level Wobbly Chair Legs With A Table Saw

Table saws can cut yards of sheet goods for days, but they can also be used in more subtle ways, like levelling furniture legs.

If your chair is wobbly, it might be the floor’s fault, and you can fix it by rotating it just a little bit. But if your chair actually has one leg longer than the other, you’ll need to do a little more work.

Chair legs can be leveled out using sandpaper or a block plane, but the process is time consuming and positioning the chair can be awkward. A table saw blade set to 1/64″ to 1/32″ in height, can be used to plane off the bottom of the two highest legs which should even out a chair. Use the flat surface of the table saw to check for chair balance.

Sand the end of the legs when finished to clean up the rough spots and start using your leveled chair right away.
