Dell Releases Modular Hybrid Cloud Platform For Microsoft

Dell has partnered with Microsoft to launch the Hybrid Cloud System, a hardware and software bundle offering, which can help businesses speed up the adoption of hybrid clouds. We break down the hardware and software that the system comes with.

Dell Hybrid Cloud System for Microsoft is built around Microsoft’s Cloud Platform System standard which makes it easier to integrate with Azure public cloud in a hardware and software package. The system uses Dell bespoke hardware, specifically Dell PowerEdge C6320 rack server with four server modes mounted in a single 2U shared infrastructure chassis. There an option of using hard disk drives and or solid state drives for storage.

In terms of software, it is powered by Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, System Center 2012 R2 and Windows Azure Pack. The Dell Cloud Platform System comes assembled, pre-staged and pre-configured. It is able to support deployments of around 100 to 400 virtual machines per physical unit and is scalable.
