Familiar with the “too many clothes, nothing to wear” conundrum? Getting rid of clothes and sticking to just 37 versatile, well-loved items in your closet could be the solution.
Your capsule wardrobe doesn’t have to be exactly 37 pieces — it could be just 10 or maybe 50 — but the point is to pare down your clothes so you don’t waste time and energy thinking about what to wear and still have a great many options. Caroline Reactor of Unfancy suggests having one capsule for each season, with each capsule composed of 9 shoes, 9 bottoms, 15 tops, 2 dresses, and 2 jackets. You might mix up the number for each category based on the season and adjust for your preferences. (Obviously if you’re a guy you can switch out the dresses for something else, perhaps suits?)
Unfancy has a PDF capsule wardrobe planner you can use to build your capsule wardrobe or just check out the recommendations below.

Shouldn’t that be an even number of shoes?
