Yesterday, Google announced a new logo. While that wasn’t a big deal, the company also started rolling out a new version of Google Now last night. This one is a lot different. For the better.
The new version of Google Now actually organises your cards. Where previously any cards Google felt like showing you were lumped together in one giant list, the new version has categories like “Updates for you” and “Stories to read”. The grouping now makes a lot more sense.
This alone would have been a welcome change, but it doesn’t stop there. The new version also seems to have improved news suggestions (though it’s not clear how much of this is related directly to the recent update). News cards are bigger, with more text and pictures. You can also now horizontally scroll certain cards like the Nearby Events card, so they take up less space in your Now feed.
If you want to try out the new hotness, but don’t want to wait for the rollout to hit your phone, you can download the new Google APK from Android Police below.
