Get A Sweeter, Juicier Pineapple By Flipping It Upside Down

Sometimes the pineapple you bought is not quite the pineapple you want. If your pineapple isn’t as ripe or as juicy as you would like it to be, try this trick from Food 52 and flip it upside down.

Simply saw off the top, flip it over on a plate, cover it in plastic wrap, and store it in the fridge for a couple of days. The idea is that the juices will trickle down from the riper bottom portion of the fruit and distribute throughout the whole pineapple for a tastier tropical treat.

It’s worth noting however that some of the commenters on the original post have had success just flipping theirs over at room temperature, without sawing off any part of the fruit (only removing the stem.) Perhaps a side by side comparison is in order?
