Suburbia Unwrapped recommends using silicon mini muffin moulds, since they’re easy to get the tablets out of when they harden after a few hours and are the perfect size for dishwashing needs.
Besides letting the tablets harden, the whole project should take minutes once you have all the ingredients: borax, washing soda, epsom or Kosher salt, baking soda, distilled white vinegar, water and a lemon.
Basically you combine the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients separately and then combine the two. Spoon the mixture into a muffin mould, wait until it’s dry, and then you’ve got DIY dishwasher tablets that cost a fraction of the store-bought kind.
