The euphoria you can sometimes get from running is a real bonus, but how do you trigger that high more often? Runner’s World offers a few suggestions.

If you push yourself to a comfortably challenging pace or run with others, you could increase the feel-good endorphins in your brain responsible for the high. Also interesting, though, another chemical called endocannabinoids (which are like the chemical in marijuana) can play a part too.

These are three times greater first thing in the morning than at night, which might be another good reason to go for a run in the morning. Worth an experiment, at least.
