How To Join Beta Test For PlayStation 4 Software Update

Sony is walking in the footsteps of Microsoft, launching a beta program for users to test software updates for the console in advance. Here’s how you can sign up to it.

The Xbox One Preview Programme was launched early last year but better late than never, Sony. A major system update for the PlayStation 4 is on its way and Sony wants users to test its functionality beforehand.

Here what you’ll need to join the PlayStation 4 software update beta:

  • A PlayStation 4 (well, duh…)
  • Internet connection
  • A master account – sub-accounts cannot participate in the program.
  • Become a member of the PlayStation Forums to get access to the beta forums where you can leave feedback on the test experience

If you have all of the above, you can sign up for the beta program over at the PlayStation website. The program will be starting in early September but hurry up and sign up if you’re super keen on participating since Sony is only taking a limited number of testers.
