Living with other people isn’t always easy, even if you’re close friends. Setting some ground rules, usually in writing, is common advice for roommates, but have you actually done it? How do you approach laying out the rules with your roommates?

At some point, conflict will happen between housemates. As a former RA, one way I know to proactively reduce this conflict is to write out your home’s rules so everyone remembers what they agreed to. Can’t stress this enough.
My housemate turned psychotic because we told him to clean up after himself and stop being a slob.
Basically, avoid rent sharing wherever possible! If you can’t, PUT EVERYTHING IN WRITING.
It’s a nightmare two months waiting to move out when someone likes to play with the hot water system, internet and just bitches to create drama.
2 Rules:
1. Your own room can be messy but the common areas are spotless all the time.
2. The only reason ANYTHING is in the sink is because you are washing it up.
