Streaming Index Site Project Free TV Calls It Quits

Streaming video index site Project Free TV appears to have fallen off the internet. As of yesterday, visiting the domain now presents you with a single, lonely word: “Goodbye.”

The way we consume media has changed radically in the last five years. Torrents are still a thing, but with the rise of Netflix and other streaming services, there is less incentive to fire up your favourite BitTorrent client.

Of course, free (and legally dubious) streaming sites have gained in popularity too and with them, indexing webpages.

Project Free TV was perhaps the most prolific, until it was taken down sometime yesterday, according to Andy at TorrentFreak. Unfortunately, TorrentFreak was unable to get in touch with the site’s administrators to find out what happened, though it’s a good bet it wanted to exit stage left gracefully, rather than be forced down by copyright holders or worse, sued into oblivion.

While there’s no shortage of replacements, it’s still sad to see it go. As the TorrentFreak article metions, Project Free TV was popular enough for someone to cook up a Kodi add-on for it… not that it’ll be seeing much use now.

    • where are you located if it works? What server do you use?
There has been lots of interference here in Alberta Canada
over the last year, servers, or other sites have been trying to block
      the use

  • Just had a look for the first time – Wow, so much pop-up/under advertising and redirects!!!

    • Hey, their index was tops, and after ALLUC was changed, shut down, likely by buyouts from Netflix or cable companies, Project Free Tv was the only decent one left, with incredible index
Sooooo, likely that they have been bought out
I watched lots of Australian tv as well as British, and european
NOw lost, as what Netflix shows, considering the billiions and billions they make each day, week, month, their programming is f===ing awful

  • The site is still operational. Also, once you add a simple adblock extension to your browser ease of access is much more palpable. Typically there will still be a page redirect or two and a couple button clicks. Easy-peasy.
the first in the list of available options once you select your title is garbage
    persistence is a virtue
and always choose the second vodlocker not the first.

  • Anyone saying “it still works/is up!” is using, and likely always has been using, one of the fake Project Free TV sites. There are plenty that have used and are still using the PFTV logo, but are mostly clickbait links/ads
