Block Off Time Needed To Finish Tasks Instead Of Just Setting Deadlines

There are always a few tasks on your to-do list that put off, hoping you’ll find time eventually. Instead of setting due dates and deadlines, schedule the time needed to actually do the tasks instead. That way you’ll finally cross them off your list.

Take a look at your to do list for the tasks that never seem to get done. Instead of setting yet another due date or reminder, schedule the time you need to actually tackle them. Blocking off time ensures that you’re not distracted and have enough time to actually get these things done. For example, I’ve been putting off organising my desk and filing cabinet, so I blocked off an hour on my calendar to make sure I get started.

By giving yourself scheduled time to focus, you increase the chances that you’ll actually do the work.
