Switch Between Three Calculators On OS X With A Keyboard Shortcut

Mac: The calculator on OS X is pretty simple at first glance, but there are two additional calculators built into that you might not realise are there: a scientific calculator and a programmer calculator. OS X Daily reminds us that you can switch between them with a keyboard shortcut.

The scientific calculator and basic calculator work as you’d expect, while the programmer calculator offers hexadecimal, decimal and binaryoptions. To switch between them, you can use the View menu, or a keyboard shortcut:

  • Command+1 for basic calculator
  • Command+2 for scientific calculator
  • Command+3 for programmer calculator

If you didn’t realise these were there, it’s a handy shortcut to keep around.
