Make A Secret 'Doortop Stash' To Hide Your Valuables

You've probably never thought about hiding something in the top of your door, but that's exactly what makes it such a great hiding place for small valuables. This video demonstrates how you can use this inconspicuous nook to keep your jewelry and important data safe.

On the Make's YouTube channel, Sean Michael Ragan shows how to make your own "doortop" stash. You'll need some kind of containment tube (they used a cigar tube), a few basic tools and hardware, and a magnet.

You'll need a hollow core interior door for this work, but most modern homes have them. Once you have everything set up, the tube will sit in the door with a flush top and all you need to access your stash is the magnet. The tube is fairly small, but it has enough room for some cash, jewellery or flash drives. You can check out the complete instructions below.

This tip will go over well with the tin-foil hat wearing paranoia brigade.

Not so secret... just ask any drug supplier (or policeman)

I asked several cop friends and they had never heard of this as a hiding place for drugs...or anything for that matter.

Reason I said it was because I saw an aussie TV show once where cops were pulling a drug stash out of one of these spots and they commented how popular it was for drug mules to use them.

Don't worry...that' one extra place they'll be looking now haha.
